An 18th century carved oak blanket box, carved across the front with a row of arched leaves above two lozenge panels, each centred on a small flowerhead. The original iron lock plate is still in place. The oak has been sandblasted and lime washed, lifting the grain and softening the colour to a pale, chalky grey while keeping every line of the carving. An 18th century carved oak blanket box, carved across the front with a row of arched leaves above two lozenge panels, each centred on a small flowerhead. The original iron lock plate is still in place. The oak has been sandblasted and lime washed, lifting the grain and softening the colour to a pale, chalky grey while keeping every line of the carving.
